Cringleford Crackerjacks Pre-school

About

Cringleford Crackerjacks is a registered charity managed by a committee of volunteers. Crackerjacks has been at the heart of the village of Cringleford since 1972 and has strong links with the local community. At our Preschool, we currently offer 5 morning sessions and 5 afternoon sessions, Monday to Friday in term time only for children aged from 2 and a half . We also offer a Lunch Club so children are able to stay for a full day.

Mission Statement

We offer a welcoming, safe and happy environment where children are encouraged to try new and exciting things and explore the world around them. In partnership with parents and carers, the differing needs of all children are acknowledged, accepted and met by our dedicated staff team who welcome children from diverse family and cultural backgrounds. The achievements of all children are celebrated and children are supported to develop imaginative, enquiring and independent minds to help them reach their potential in the early years and beyond.

Aims and objectives

  • We have high expectations for every child and aim to ensure each one leaves Crackerjacks with the essential knowledge they need to prepare them for their future success. We achieve this through high quality experiences, teaching and challenge in a safe and happy environment
  • We promote equality of opportunity for all children regardless of gender, race, disability or family background within a child-centred learning environment.
  • We know every child individually and use ongoing observations of the children at play to plan activities ‘in the moment’ that follow children’s individual needs and interests.
  • We work closely with parents and carers to set and review ‘next step’ targets for every child.
  • We support and promote the professional development of all staff to ensure they provide high quality experiences for children.  Our existing team of staff are excellent role models for children and are highly qualified and experienced.
  • We have an excellent track record in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and work closely with families to ensure that all children get the additional support and interventions they need.
  • We regularly seek feedback from those who use our setting including children, parents, staff and other professionals and we use this feedback to improve our practice.
